New to Cycle Tracking

Connecting to “my moon” is new to me. I am curious about cycle tracking so that I may become autonomous over my fertility, potentially refrain from consuming hormonal birth control, and transform my womb from a place of pain and sickness to a sacred temple of creation and pleasure.

Thank you for taking this pivotal first step in reclaiming your sovereign right to regulate your menstrual cycle without relying on pharmaceutical hormonal contraceptives.

When I turned 18, I began taking the pill for a few years and then had a hormonal IUD inserted for three years in which I had no menstrual cycle. During this time, I experienced weight gain, numbness and pain during sex, mood swings, and complete emotional instability.

There are several reasons that many of us are drawn to the pill, regardless of the negative side effects, whether it be for contraception, to regulate hormones, to trick our body into not having an “annoying period,” or to control acne breakouts.

There is a way to meet your needs with holistic, hormone-free, herbal, and cyclical wisdom. There are answers to all of your questions with responses based on age-old wisdom passed down by women, not male doctors in white lab coats. There is a path that nourishes your body, mind, and soul while respecting Mother Earth.

Firstly, I would love to hear what led you here. There must be something in how things operate for you that is no longer flowing with you. Perhaps you may fear and resist significant change without the correct information. And I am here to tell you that you are not alone.

Whether you are ready to return to your natural cyclical flow without hormonal interventions or feel that it is not your time to let go of birth control as you know it, I am still here to support you.

When I was preparing to remove my IUD and begin to bleed again, a sweet, wise sister began teaching me about my fertile window and safe sex days. Fertile window? Safe sex days? No one had ever said those words to me before, and I was 23. All I remembered were my middle school health class lessons that provided me with two extreme opposites. I either had to choose to remain abstinent, refraining from sex entirely or, if I were going to engage in sex, there was a high chance that I could become pregnant. Not only was this dichotomy inaccurately portrayed, but it also failed to mention the intricacies of the female reproductive cycle and how our fertility shifts throughout our phases.

I began to feel rage and grief at how much information about my body had been left out of the picture for so long. Why did I believe hormonal birth control was the best and only option?

Once I transformed this rage and grief, I became electric. I knew that my mission included supporting other womb keepers to understand their unique flow so that they may make empowered decisions about their health. Not from a dark cloudy place like the Western medical system tends to keep us. But from a clear, empowered, intuitive knowing about what is right for our bodies.

Diving into the multifaceted hormonal shifts of the menstrual cycle on a handy graph is helpful but not enough. Your body does not flow in an identical rhythm to anyone else’s. Understanding the four phases that make up a complete menstrual cycle is only an approximation that varies drastically from person to person. It is not enough to say that all bodies ovulate on day 14. I, for example, tend to ovulate consistently on day 17 of my cycle. And how do I know this? Because I have been tracking my cycle for years.

Once you have shared with me what has brought you here, I will begin to support you in tracking your cycle with a unique mandala menstrual calendar I designed. When we start a cycle tracking process, it is recommended that we fill out at least three complete phases to begin to draw conclusions about our cyclical tendencies.

You will be guided to explore the four phases of your menstrual cycle and connect to rituals, vocal activation practices, embodiment practices, dietary changes, herbal support, and writing reflections to guide you in each phase.

I will provide you with practical information like how to use your basal body temperature to confirm ovulation and to know when your period is coming again. How to understand what your cervical fluids indicate about your fertility. How to know what the position and texture of your cervix say about where you are in your menstrual cycle.

I will provide you with emotional support as memories, traumas, pain, and grief may emerge throughout the process. And I will give you tools to acknowledge these emotions and transmute them.

I will encourage you to practice celebrations, moments of joy in which we mutually pause and celebrate your growth.

I will provide you with personalized creative expression exercises designed to allow creative life force energy to move freely through you.

I will provide you with witchy wisdom on how your menstrual cycle is linked to the moon’s cycles, the flow of your gardens, the four seasons, the four elements, and diverse female archetypes.

Our process will include virtual check-ins, pdf printables you can keep and use in your own time, and personalized homework assignments to which I will hold you accountable. And every step of the way, I will cheer you on and answer your questions.
